Evergreen Kosher Market (“Evergreen”, “we”) runs this website and the Evergreen app for our stores. This policy explains what we collect when you shop with us online, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
Your account. Your name and mobile number (it’s how you sign in), and, if you give them, your email address and a password. We send a one-time code to confirm it’s you. Codes and passwords are stored scrambled, and codes expire after 10 minutes.
Your household. If you invite family members, the phone number you invite. People in a household share saved addresses, order history, favorites, lists and the in-store account.
Your addresses. The delivery addresses you save. As you type an address we suggest matches.
Your orders. What you buy, your store, delivery or pickup, the time you chose, your delivery address, order notes, tip, what to do if an item is out of stock, and when you tell us you’ve arrived for pickup.
Payment. You type your card into secure fields run by our payment processor, Cardknox. Your card number goes straight to Cardknox. We never see or store it. If you save a card, we keep only what’s needed to show it and use it again: a token from Cardknox, the card type, the last four digits and the expiry date.
Your in-store account. If your online account is linked to your account at the register, we see your in-store account details so we can show them to you online.
Your preferences. What you tell us about kashrus and your household, for example Cholov Yisroel, dietary notes, family size, brands you like or avoid, products you’ve hidden, and which notifications you want.
How you shop. What you search for, the products you look at, add to your cart and buy. We use this to show your usual items, “buy again” and better search results.
Help. Messages you send us through Help, including conversations with the Help assistant.
Your phone or computer. In the app: a notification token so we can send you order updates, the app version, phone model, language and time zone, and a token for live order updates on your Lock Screen. On the website: a cookie that keeps you signed in, an anonymous visitor ID, and your chosen store, ZIP code and cart, saved in your browser.
Location. We don’t collect your phone’s location. We use the ZIP code or address you give us to find your store and delivery options.
How we use it
- To take, pick, deliver and charge for your order, and to handle substitutions, cancellations and refunds.
- To text or email you sign-in codes and updates about your orders, and to send app notifications you allow.
- To personalize what you see: your usual items, reorder suggestions and search results.
- To keep accounts secure and stop abuse, for example by limiting how many codes can be sent.
- To send promotions, only if you’ve agreed to receive them.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information, and we don’t use advertising trackers. We share information only with the companies that help us run the store, and only for that job:
- Cardknox for card payments.
- Telnyx for text messages (codes and order updates).
- Resend for email.
- Apple to deliver app notifications and live order updates.
- Anthropic, which powers the Help assistant. Your messages to it are processed to answer you.
- OpenAI, which processes the words you search for so we can understand what you mean.
- Recombee, which uses products viewed, added to cart and bought to suggest products.
- Radar for address suggestions as you type.
- Shippo and the shipping carrier, only for orders shipped nationwide.
- Our point-of-sale system to fill your order and link your in-store account.
- The companies that host our website, app services and database.
We may also share information when the law requires it.
Text messages
We text you sign-in codes and updates about orders you place. Message and data rates may apply. You can choose which order updates you get in your notification settings.
Your choices
- Update your name, email, addresses and preferences in your account.
- Choose which notifications you get in your notification settings, or turn them off on your phone.
- Un-hide products you’ve hidden.
- Leave a household at any time. What you added goes with you.
- Delete your account, as explained below.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account yourself, at any time. In the app, go to Account and choose Delete account. On the website, open your account and use Delete my account at the bottom. To make sure it’s you, we send a code to the phone on your account. If you have a password you can use that instead.
When you delete your account, it happens right away:
- We delete your name, phone numbers, email, password, saved addresses, saved cards, favorites, shopping lists, recipe lists, preferences, hidden products, search history and Help assistant conversations.
- You’re signed out on every device, and we stop sending notifications to your phone.
- You leave your household. Everyone else’s account and your family’s in-store account aren’t affected.
- We keep records of the orders you placed, including their payment records, because the law requires us to keep them for accounting and tax. Messages you sent our staff about an order are kept with it.
- We email you a confirmation if your account had an email address.
If you have an order in progress with a hold on your card, you can delete your account once that order is complete. If your account is managed through a benefits program, contact your case manager or call your store. You’re welcome to open a new account later with the same phone number.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information until you delete your account. We keep order and payment records for as long as the law requires for accounting and tax. One-time codes expire after 10 minutes.
Security
Your information travels encrypted. Passwords and codes are stored scrambled, and card numbers stay with Cardknox. No system is perfect, so please keep your phone and password to yourself.
Children
Our store isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information.
Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Questions about your information? Call or visit any of our stores:
