Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Prepare the broccoli: If using frozen chopped broccoli, thaw and drain well. If using fresh whole broccoli florets, cut into small bite-sized pieces and steam or blanch for 2–3 minutes until slightly tender. You can also roast them with a drizzle of olive oil and salt for 8–10 minutes at 400°F for extra flavor.
Prepare the focaccia: If the focaccia is thick, consider slicing it horizontally to create a thinner layer, or use as-is for a thicker, more filling base. Lightly brush the top with olive oil or garlic butter.
Spread the sauce: Spread pizza or pasta sauce evenly over the focaccia, leaving a small border around the edges.
Add broccoli and cheese: Evenly distribute the prepared broccoli over the sauce, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Bake: Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted, and bubbly, and starting to brown, and the focaccia is heated through.
Serve: Slice and serve warm. This pairs well with a crisp salad or soup.
